Montana Folklife Area

The Montana Folklife Area celebrates the rich, living heritage of Montana and the West.

In 2011, folklife demonstrations, displays, exhibits, performances and narrative presentations explored the theme for the first Montana Folk Festival -- Lure of the Land -- Connecting To Montana's Outdoor Heritage.

Demonstrators interpreted the importance of skills and tools for hunting, fishing and camping and other outdoor activities from the earliest days when acquiring such skills could be a matter of survival for Montana's earliest inhabitants up to today when our outdoor heritage is cherished, appreciated and enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.

Check back to see who will be featured in the Montana Folklife Area on July 14 and 15 at the 2012 Montana Folk Festival.

Meanwhile get a sense of what you can expect by looking over who attendees encountered in the 2011 Montana Folklife Area.
